Let's Get Grateful Again
I will never stop these Grateful Posts...well, when I'm blogging regularly. They may not be every week, but I always come back to them because they keep positive.
Five Gratefuls:
1. SCHOOL IS IN SESSION! Wheeeheehee! I love my kids, I do, but it's amazing how much more I accomplish when they are in school. My brain cells regenerate and I'm sort of sane for 8 months. Which is really important after this summer. Twin B, was all over the "What ifs..." as in, "What if Aliens did live here and we didn't know it?" Uh, then things would be the same because we didn't know any better? "What if we were born knowing everything and you didn't know it and were still making us go to school to learn stuff we already know that you don't know?" Yep, that one had my "Do you hear the crickets over my head?" look.
2. I can still multi-task like a pro. Today, I was cooking, critiquing over the phone, and directing children with hand signals (nice ones...with the exception of the knock it off signal - handing swooshing across neck). I didn't stir a pen into dinner, or signal my children to cut "try to attempt to", or yell at the gal whose piece I was critiquing to stop the toot noises.
3. Driving. I love to drive, especially along rural, tree lined roads. This always makes me smile.
4. I'm grateful my son didn't end his "Mom, I gotta talk to you about something," with "my girlfriend is pregnant." He was so serious, I was sure something seriously life-altering was coming. Instead, he showed me a parking ticket. The first time I've ever been happy my son received a ticket.
5. I'm grateful that the twins are back in the same classroom again this year. Their teacher is the best. This man has had darling teen (see above) and the twins. He really teaches kids independence and responsibility. He also has a great way with children and can get kids interested in almost anything. However, I'm sure he's redone his teacher contract to include, "If that Johnson woman has any more kids, my salary triples."
What makes you grateful?

Ha! Too funny.
Cool post. I, too, am grateful for a great many things, and should say it more. I'm even grateful for my 11 hour day job, in spite of the fact that I would much rather stay home, take care of the house and get more writing done.
Have a great weekend.

Oh, I love the idea of grateful posts. I have so much to be grateful for that it's an embarrassment of riches. Family will always top the list.
